Treasures ...

Life keeps rolling with its high and low here in grandma place . I try to live our life as normal and happy as possible even if the circumstances are not the best. Sometime I succeed. Sometimes not much. But I always always try to keep in mind in which Hands we are and I make all the effort to put a smile on my face and do my job : love, serve, nurture my wonderful family .
Yesterday we found out this little bookstore. It sells only old books, both new and used ones. Call it the homeschool-heaven. We came out with two very full  and heavy bags and a very light bill ( 35 euros !!! ).

the most amazing thing is that the kids chose a lot of *school books* as their treat for the day.

I'm sure all the homeschooler can well understand what a great pleasure is when for the kids doing

 school works it's a fun way to spend time.

Then today we did some Christmassy stuff. We all love so much cut and glue and create. And we lov it even more if we're all together around the table ...

Happiness

In the last couple of days so many things happened that brought such a big big happiness in this heart of mine.
Once again i've been proved i'm cared, and provided for, and loved and so do those I love .
Kids are kids and all i can say about them is that they're the truly gift of all my life. Even when they drive me crazy. Even when i'm worried sick they might get lost at some point ( and i don't mean 'phisically' lost - or at least not only ) in their life. Life with them is a neverending wonder and i am so grateful for the gift of their birth, for their life at my side, for being the witness and the friend and the mother and the teacher of these 4 human being. Thank you Lord !

And then yesterday we got news something potentially terrible happened in Finland, and this might have harmed pretty badly one of our dearest friend. A train went off rail at the Helsinki railway station and the train litterally 'jumped ' in our friend work place (give a look here ) . The article is wrong when it talks about a hotel, actually it didn't jump into the hotel. But well the main point being that nobody was in the office in that moment. We got the news from him and still the kids were horrified at the thought of what might have happened. Once again gratitude is the word that comes to my mind.

And then today, once again something wonderful happened to me. I got a beautiful and sweet Christmas card from a dear blog friend Pom Pom. She is so caring and sweet, and she has been such a Godsend in a moment of my life in which i deeply need someone so caring and inspiring, able to spread love and happiness as she can do so easily. Dear friend thank you so much.

And then tonight. Tomorrow in Italy we celebrate the Epiphany, to remember the visit the magi payed to baby Jesus. Tomorrow will put an end to Christmas. Decorations will be taken down the day after tomorrow and stored away. But tonight kids hang stockings that will be filled with sweets and candies during the night.

So kids went to bed earlier today, thrilled and excited and tomorrow morning they'll jump off bad at the beginning of the day to find out what's in their stockings. They even put one for the rabbit :)) lol

And from tomorrow we'll be back to 'normal' life. No more Christmas school. No more Christmas tree or wreath. But the love Christmas brought us will stay. The love that a sacred family of two thoused years ago showed us is neverending. The gift of peace and love Jesus gave us is the most precious one.

And you know what ... just a normal life with my family is so much that sometime i think i don't deserve such a luxury, but of course i will enjoy and cherish it with all my heart and soul :)

Finalmente !

Finalmente riesco a prendermi un pò di tempo per aggiornare questo povero e trascurato blog. Negli ultimi giorni siamo stati superimpegnati con mille cose. La novità più bella è stata l'arrivo di Tappo, un coniglietto ( coniglio ariete, qualcuno sa perchè si chiamano così ? ) voluto e desiderato per mesi, preceduto da un febbrile lavoro di PapaF e dei suoi piccoli aiutanti per costruirgli un consono e confortevole rifugio.
Che dire, Tappo è dolcissimo, è con noi da soli 4 giorni ma già mostra di riconoscerci e cercarci, quando ci avviciniamo alla conogliera si alza sulle zampine posteriori per farsi accarezzare, e per un'ora al giorno circa lo teniamo libero in camera delle bimbe con noi seduti per terra a leggere ad alta voce e lui che zompetta saltella ed annusa tutto il tempo, che bello !

Per festeggiare l'arrivo di Tappo, oltre che la consueta serata ( era il turno di Leo ) siamo stati anche deliziati da una recita improvvisata dei bambini

Domenica abbiamo poi rimesso in uso la nostra fida stufa a legna, per adesso solo la sera. Siamo tutti felici, ci piace tantissimo scaldarci con un bel fuoco, avere sempre un bollitore pronto per il tè ed un fornello aggiuntivo che ci ricorda tanto i 'tempi che furono' che piacciono un pò a tutti noi..

Che altro ... la nostra attività con le candele e le saponette va piano piano raffinandosi, stiamo preparando le candele per Natale ed in frigorifero si stanno ultimando 6 saponette alla lavanda ( la nostra, fatta essiccare ).

Alle nostre produzioni artigianali si è poi aggiunto l'uncinetto fatto da Sebastiano. Io lavoro assiduamente, e ieri sera Seba mi fa ( con una certa urgenza nella voce ) 'Mamma presto dammi l'uncinetto che penso di aver capito ' ( notare che non gli stavo 'insegnando' stavo semplicemente lavorando e lui era lì intorno ) comunque gli ho dato uncinetto e lana e lui non si è più fermato ! Abbiamo una catenella arancione di più di due metri ! Lui è entusiasta, in ogni momento libero lo troviamo a lavorare e mi ha chiesto di compragli un gomitolo tutto suo da lavorare da cima a fondo. Che bello !

E ieri per Seba è stato un giorno importante anche per un altro motivo, ha perso il suo primo dentino ! A quasi sette anni e mezzo ! Lui è sempre stato un pò 'lento' con i denti, infatti non mi sono mai preoccupata ed ho fatto bene.

Infine volevo ringraziare Sybille che mi ha assegnato un blog-premio (di cui purtroppo non riesco a pubblicare l'immagine ... ) spero di riuscire a riassegnarlo a mia volta, ma questa sera non faccio proprio in tempo .... scusa Sybille sono pessima ! :)
